Creating art has always been part of my life. However, painting became my passion in 1980 when I met and began studying with the premier Florida landscape artist
Albert Ernest Backus, or "Beanie"
as he is affectionately known.

I work exclusively in Oil. Being able to push the oil paint around with either brush or palette knife allows me to create surfaces that catch light at different angles. Nuances of color can be achieved whiled working wet into wet.

As a Florida native and the daughter of an avid bird watcher, much of my life has been spent learning about Florida's Flora and Fauna. As a result, painting my surroundings became my classroom and Mother Nature my teacher.
