What
is a Giclée Print?
The fine
arts limited edition made by the Giclée (zhee-clay) print process is a collaboration
between the artist and printing craftspeople with the color selection and
final approval by the artist essential to the overall printing process.
Gicleé reproductions are in the finest tradition of European
printmaking in that the prints are made individually, on a one-by-one basis,
rather than the mass production method of photo mechanical offset-lithography.
The cornerstone of this process is enhanced Iris
digital ink jet printers which have been specifically modified for the rigorous
and precise criteria of fine art collectors and connoisseurs of museum quality,
limited edition prints. The printers use continuous tone technology in
which infinitely small pixels of color are capable of rendering an amazingly
consistent image, to faithfully mirror the artists original oil painting.
The results are highly prized museum quality prints.
The following images are
Giclee prints on
canvas produced from my original oil paintings. Each print is in a limited edition of 100, signed
by the artist and numbered.
